- **AI design system**: A design system structured for both human designers and AI agents. Tokens, components, and rules are queryable.
- **AI-ready design system** / **agent-ready design system**: The system is machine-readable. Agents retrieve components and intent instead of guessing.
- **Agentic design system**: Agent-ready plus a loop. Agents can observe drift, suggest fixes, and learn with human oversight.
- **Figma design system**: Most systems start as a Figma library. An AI-ready system extends that library so agents can use it.
